Sorry about the slow Pennant results, but below is the last 2 rounds results with the latest update with the ladder:

 If anyone knows the whereabouts of the name plates for the leader board, I would appreciate in having them returned.
Bryan Death thought he had them but cannot locate them. So any help in this mystery would be very much appreciated.
Someone picked them up after the Dinner at Iririki last year.

PENNANTS 2009        

The Grand Final of the Iririki Pennants was held Sunday 15th November, and the 2009 winners are Dinh with Barrett and Partners runners up.
The 3rd and 4th playoff went to Fr8 from ANZ.
No more details have been provided to the webmaster at this stage.

FORMAT AND RULES 

1.         Teams shall consist of any number of players including at least one lady.

2.         All players must be paid up financial members of PVG & CC
            Penalty: Loss of match of unfinancial member only.

3.         All players must possess a valid Australian Golf Union handicap. Any player with a valid PVGCC handicap is automatically included.
            Penalty: Loss of match of player only.

4.         There will be six teams and all will play each other once as per the attached draw.

5.         Each round will be played over 18 holes of handicap matchplay with seven members of each team (6 men & 1 lady) in accordance with the matchplay rules as set out in The Rules of Golf, any local rules which exist at the time of the round at PVG CC and the rules contained in this advice. If a team cannot field 6 men, then match number 6, then match number 5, in downward order are forfeited.

6.         Each round will be played with a shotgun start using the carded index from each club.
Start holes will be 1-2-3-9-10-11             Refer to start sheet.

            Ladies and men will give one shot for each stroke of handicap difference applied from stroke index 1. 

7.         The mens teams shall be played in handicap order the lowest being player No.1.  Where two or more players have the same (not exact) handicap, the team captain has discretion as to their playing order.

            Penalty: Loss of 2 matches.

8.         Matches will be played in groups of 4 or 2 as per the start sheet.

            All matches will be played out to determine a winner.  In the case of a square after 18 holes the match will continue to the next hole and so on until a winner is determined using existing indexes.        

POINTS:                      Winning Team:              1 point for each match won

                                                                                    Plus 1 bonus point for team win

                                                Losing Team:                1 point for each match won

            On the putting green if two matches are played in the one group of four then one match must complete the hole before the second match putts out.

            Please Note: The players in the same team in a group are not partners in accordance with Rule 8 of the Rules of Golf.

 

9.         Players must have played at least one round of the competition to be eligible to play in the finals.

            Penalty: Loss of match of ineligible player. 

10.        The finals are to consist of the top four teams in the following format:

                        First Semi-Final                                     Team 1 vs Team 4

                        Second Semi-Final                                 Team 2 vs Team 3

                        Grand Final                                           Winner 1st Semi-Final vs Winner 2nd

Semi-Final

             In the event of two teams finishing equal on the ladder, the higher position shall be determined by referring to the winner of the match between
             the teams during the year.  In the event of 3 or more teams finishing equal on the ladder, the positions shall be determined by lot.

11.        As a mark of respect to the Team sponsors it is expected that all teams will be in team     uniforms(shirts and other sponsored gear) for all rounds and the finals series.       

12.        A Player late for his/her match will automatically lose the 1st hole.  Should the Player not be ready to play the 2nd hole he/she will forfeit the match.

13.        Team Captains must submit their teams to the Chairman of the Pennants Committee no later than 26/06/2009. 
             After that date if any player is nominated by a team then his/her name will be submitted to all team captains by e-mail for approval.  
             Three teams excluding the nominating team in favour is required for approval.

14.        Adjudication on disputes concerning the Rules of Golf and local rules shall be under the control of the PVGCC Match Committee.

            Disputes regarding the pennants rules shall be determined by the Chairman or his Committee.  Any dispute or protest must be made to the PVGCC match committee Chairman or the Chairman depending on which is to adjudicate, in writing, email or fax by 5.00 pm on the Tuesday following the competition.

            No disputes or protests of any type can be lodged after this date.

15.        A Match or Pennant Committee member cannot adjudicate in a dispute involving a team of which he is a member.

16.        STARTING TIMES: Players must be registered by team captains with the starter by

8.15AM.Penalty:Loss of first hole for each team member.

Start time will be from 8.30AM.  It is the responsibility of the team captains to ensure that their players are ready to play at their allocated time and from their allocated tee.

Changes to the team sheet will not permitted once it has been registered with the starter.

17.        Junior club members under the age of 16 years are ineligible for the competition.

18.        Team registration will be VT25,000 payable before commencement of first round to PVGCC.

19.        Amendments to the Rules of the competition can only be made by the Pennants Committee and also including the Team Captains.  The Chairman shall be nominated by PVGCC Club Captain.

            The Chairman will call all meetings.

20.        Carts are permitted subject to the approval of both players in a match.

21.        Presentation of trophies will held with a dinner as per previous years.

            Further details will be available at a later date.

22.        PLAYER OF THE SERIES (To be revised)

At the completion of each round the two opposing team captains will allocate points to three players on their own teams on a 3,2,1, basis whose performances the captain deems worthy of inclusion in the Player of the Series award. 

 

The points sheet will then be sealed in an envelope and handed to the Pennants Chairman who will collate the points over the course of the series.

Points need not necessarily be for largest win but all performances need to be considered when deciding points allocation.
